Half A Century In Germany "Born There Raised Here"

Is it the place we were born or grew up where we belong, wish to live and feel ourselves comfortable? Fatma Soyer, a second generation resident of Germany, owns a hairdresser shop in Berlin and has two German employees. Her partner, Hüsnü Soyer delivers lunch to German companies from the small catering shop where he fixes Turkish dishes. Their biggest dream is for their children to have a decent education and do the profession they like doing. Having integrated into Germany, the family, will nevertheless not compromise on their own cultural values and try to preserve their Turkish identity. Offering snapshots from the Soyer Family’s life story in Berlin, the documentary presents the issues of belongingness, identity, integration and xenophobia around the axis personal stories, feelings, and notions of the characters.
