An Island Two Immigrations

People leave behind the culture, the land and the nature that surround them when they immigrate. They have both the sadness of a life that is left behind and the excitement of a new beginning… The immigration is a sad road story. It is to set off with the suitcases filled with great memories, lost dreams and crashed hopes. We always saw, listened to and watched the story from the eyes of Greek immigrants. Yes, events were sad and shameful sometimes but no one considered what people who were forced to move the island suffered. How and in what conditions these people had moved to 1.400 kilometers away from their homelands in Black Sea region. The new island settlers, who, despite not smelling the rose odors of their mountains, sound of their kamancha, the crashing of their creeks, tired to protect their identity….The documentary “An island, two immigrations” tells the sometimes sad and sometimes funny story of this immigration adventure with the words of its heroes.
